parade

A quick drive-by post to show you some things I’ve been meaning to show you.

First, the helmet hat fits my Dad:

helmet hat on Dad

He really likes it, and wore it all day yesterday even though we were inside. He wanted people to ask him where he got it so he could tell them they couldn’t get it anywhere. A successful project, I’d say!

A photo from Christmas Day at my mother-in-law’s house:

just fits

The Owl Sweater on Maggie! It sure is cute on her, but it won’t fit her much longer. So sad.

And lastly, a very easy but totally wonderful pair of mitts:

maine morning mitts

They are the Maine Morning Mitts from The Knitter’s Book of Yarn.  [Ravelry project page.]  They were maybe going to be a gift, but I think I like them too much.

A little FO parade, and I’m off!

AWESOME! What wonderful triumphs of knitterly creation! If your dad lives near other Bills fans you may have to knit him an authentic chin strap- so they can’t take it from him! Great owl sweater! Worth the wait!

Maggie looks so cute in her owl cardigan, and your dad’s hat looks good too. How proud he must be to wear it so people will ask him where he got it. I would say that is a successful knit!

Hehe, that is such a dad thing to do! The hat looks great on him, and that owl sweater is just about the cutest thing ever.

Congrats, the hat looks fab on your dad and he obviously will wear it with pride, kinda like your brother. The owl sweater is definitely cute but not as cute as the model. :)

FO parade is a hit! Feel like I’ve been catching candy and doing a mardis gras prep dance.

All your projects look great. Love your Dad’s v-dub shirt! Weren’t the mitts fun to make? I made some out of Noro from my stash and love them! Definitely nice and warm.

the owl sweater is too cute to be true. and the other things lovely as well. do the morning mitts only take a skein or a skein each???
if you feel like it you could make the owl sleeves a little longer, ez style, since the rest of the sweater looks roomy enough?
