zigzag and moths

zigzag study hall

There is suddenly, a lot going on.  All good stuff, but still a lot.

Above is my new design that I pulled together rather quickly.  It will be available for sale soon (must finish thumb), and ready for my very first teaching engagement.  An Intro to Stranded Knitting class.  I’m simultaneously freaked out and delighted to have the opportunity.

Also, I’m working with my friend Cindy on a sock pattern.  She designed a great sock, and we’re looking to get it released as soon as possible…if there weren’t so many mini-roadblocks in our way.  One roadblock happened to be my dear Maggie, who took scissors to the sample sock I was knitting and butchered it.  She also cut her own hair.  She is lucky she’s so damn cute.

"This is where I cut my hair."

Then there’s Halloween, and the costumes that are asked about every single day, morning and night.  I keep saying they’ll be done and I sure hope I’m right.

But all this busy activity makes me happy, makes me feel fulfilled in a way that’s hard to explain, and makes me thankful when I get the opportunity to kick back and relax.  Like last night, when my Partners in Crime threw me a little birthday party (my birthday is tomorrow!!  yippee!!) complete with wool, moths, musical candles, and strawberry cake.  Anne, Lisa, Cindy, Denise: You guys are the best.  Thanks!!

The mitt looks great, good luck with the teaching stint, I am sure it will be great!

Scissors to the knits, hair, insert anything here=one of my biggest fears…my kid is OBSESSED with scissors right now. It’s sort of a problem.
