OBX

Jerry & Maggie

Still very little knitting to speak of around here. We went on vacation to the Outer Banks, planning to camp for five nights at the beach. Given the temperature (over 100 degrees Fahrenheit) and high wind as we tried to set up camp, we were unsuccessful.  I am lucky to have a very easygoing travel companion in my husband, and we quickly decided that a motel would make our vacation much more enjoyable.

We played at the beach, went sightseeing, saw lighthouses, swam in pools, enjoyed air-conditioned motel rooms, rode two ferries, fished off a pier, waded in the sound, visited souvenir shops, watched the sunset, took pictures of birds, stayed covered in sand, and enjoyed every minute.

Ocracoke Preservation Society

Although I did little knitting, I did find some crocheted items at the Ocracoke Preservation Society.

Here are some of my favorite shots (I only took a billion, I will share just a few).

But the trip was really about the beach.

You got some great shots! I really want to visit OBX. My husband’s family has a wonderful beach house in SC but as a result we don’t really try out other areas. Your photos make me want to branch out a bit!

Those pictures make it look like so much fun. Happy to see a needlework picture in there even though it wasn’t your work. Kids are happy when they are free as the wind, aren’t they?

That ship sunset photo is gorgeous!
