End of May Hat

At the end of May this year, my knitting mojo finally returned. I scribbled this design one day (more acurately – I scribbled, erased, scribbled, erased ad nauseum) and had to immediatly cast on. Just had to!
Colorwork is my absolute favorite thing to knit. How is it possible that, for me, it progresses more quickly than even plain stockinette? It’s a mystery, but one that I’m willing never to get to the bottom of.
This pattern uses two skeins (about 50 g of each color) of Berocco Ultra Alpaca, or any light worsted weight yarn that knits to the correct gauge. You’ll need a 16″ cirucular needle and a set of dpns in either a size 3 or 4.
- For Medium – finished size of 18.5″ (47 cm), US 3 (3.25 mm), at a gauge of 26 sts to 4″ (10 cm).
- For Large – finished size of 20″ (50 cm), US 4 (3.5 mm), at a gauge of 24 sts to 4″ (10 cm).
You’ll also need about 15 g of a very soft sport weight yarn for the lining. Any leftover ball of yarn will do, as long as it’s soft!
Queue, fave or buy on Ravelry for $5.
Thank you!
